The Journey. I speak of journeys often. It's a daily discovery as to where my road leads me. I have days where it's clicking. I'm moving in what feels like a successful direction—accomplishing things, achieving goals and making progress, getting closer and closer to something. I don't know what that something is, but I feel I'm doing everything correctly. I'm tracking pretty well and feeling pretty good. It's almost too good!
I found myself in that place a few days back. Then, with one email, it all got uprooted. It all changed. And I realized my attention was where it wasn't meant to be.
And that is the journey.
Today's song has been on my heart. It speaks to me. I tried finding the lyrics but could not, so I transcribed as best as I could. Some words were hard to decipher, and I had to listen to them repeatedly. But each time I hit repeat, I heard new messages, had new pondering thoughts, and realized they were words I needed to hear.
It is hard to walk a faithful line. It is daily meditation through truthful conversations. This world entices us to be where we are not supposed to be. How do we keep from journeying there? I feel pretty good for days, weeks, and months, only to wake up with a text or email and realize someone is battling for me. Someone wants the parts of me that I say belong to Him. It's the journey. It's never smooth, and when we think it is, that’s typically when we're the most lost. Lulled to sleep, lulled into believing it all works for us. When we think it's working, we know we are not working for Him. The more we get, the more we want, and the further we are pulled away.
I read another writer on Substack, and she questioned why God seemed to come and go, move around her, sometimes close, sometimes far away, and I offered — God stays put. He stays where He always is, but we, humans, sheep, are the ones who move. We stray away, lost in following something we choose to follow. The shiny object put before us. Money. Success. Pride. They are all grifters in our world, battling for our souls.
Stay awake on your journey. Be reflective, truthful, and aware that our souls are prizes. Something to be taken away from our God, and a battle is being fought for our minds, spirits, and thoughts. It's a dangerous journey. But trust your guide and let Him map it out for you. Be aware of what you input so your output is better.
For to this you have been called, because of Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example so that you might follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2 (ESV)

Until our next post, be safe. Stay strong. Spread grace and pray. The world needs our prayers.
LYRICS - as heard by Kim
Decisions on the past (not sure of this word)
The doors you closed too fast
When all attempts have failed
When all your fears travailed
This is the journey
This is the journey
This is the journey
Another day of victory (First place comes easy)
Pride fills your heart within (Your back to where you started again)
This is the journey
This is the journey
This is the journey
The battle begins for your soul
Surrender is here at your cold (not sure of this word)
And you won't let go of the enemy
The battle begins for your heart
You're broken inside from the start
And you’ve always known
This is the journey - Yeah, yeah, yeah
This is the journey - Yeah, yeah, yeah,
As you walk through the plot (not sure of this word) of field - (With a rusted sword and a broken shield)
They're useless in your hand - (The enemy strikes again)
Is this your final chance
To wake and break the trance
To drop the sword of pride
And open up inside
So let your walls give in
Exposing all your sin
He’ll wipe away your tears
Erasing all your fears
All your fears
This is the journey - Yeah, yeah, yeah,
This is the journey - Yeah, yeah, yeah
The battle begins for your soul
Surrender is here at your call
And you won't let go of the enemy
The battle begins for your heart
You're broken from inside from the stat
And you've always known
This is the journey - Yeah, yeah, yeah
This is the journey - Yeah, yeah, yeah
This is the journey
To my fellow ponderers, .. Every time I read one of Kims posts, there is always a "God shot" (am impactful nugget of wisdom that really stands out to me , and it may be different for each of us) ..
Well, todays God shot was " Stay awake on your Journey" .. that really hit home
Thank Kim !
Thank you for the reminder that God does not move, but it is us that do, some times by intentional choice, other times not even realizing our movements. We need to continually pray that we stay aware.
